Car Park Mechanical Abrasion & Chemical Spills Challenge
Car park decks are subjected to mechanical wear, tire abrasion, oil/fuel spills, carbonation, and structural vibrations. The system must prevent water and salt intrusion that causes rebar corrosion while providing skid resistance for vehicle safety.
Application Selection Guidance
Specify Geobit multi-coat polyurethane traffic deck coating systems. These systems are flexible, crack-bridging, and slip-resistant. For intermediate decks, use a system with dynamic crack-bridging properties. For exposed top decks, apply a UV-stable polyurethane or polyurea topcoat. For high-wear zones (ramps, turn areas), apply a heavy-duty aggregate broadcast to ensure long-term traction.
Mechanical diamond grinding or shot-blasting of concrete deck to achieve ICRI CSP 3-4 profile.
Penetrating two-component epoxy or polyurethane primer binding to concrete.
Crack-bridging elastomeric polyurethane or spray polyurea waterproofing coat.
High-build epoxy or polyurea wear layer embedded with anti-slip quartz aggregate.
Graded silica quartz broadcast for maximum traction and slip resistance.
Chemical and UV-stable polyurethane topcoat with parking bay line markings.
