Liquid-Applied Waterproofing Membranes
Liquid-applied waterproofing membranes are cold-applied coatings that cure to form a seamless, joint-free elastomeric barrier. These systems (including polyurethane, cementitious, and elastomeric acrylics) conform to complex geometries, penetrations, and terminations, eliminating the seams that represent the weakest points in sheet systems. They are highly specified for exposed roofs, balconies, planter boxes, and wet rooms, providing excellent crack-bridging, weather resistance, and thermal stability under intense UV and solar exposure.
Selection Guidance: How to Choose
Match the liquid membrane chemistry to the exposure and usage: For exposed roof decks requiring high UV stability and durability, specify UV-resistant polyurethane (1K or 2K) membranes. For wet rooms, water tanks, and bathrooms, two-component polymer-modified cementitious coatings are preferred due to their excellent adhesion to damp concrete and compatibility with tile adhesives. For exposed vertical facades, elastomeric acrylic coatings provide high reflectivity and weathering protection.
