The Warner Bros Hotel Case Study
Geobit Group supplied BETOFLEX® flooring and traffic deck coating materials for The Warner Bros Hotel on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. The scope encompassed high-build polyurethane traffic deck waterproofing for multi-level parking structures, self-smoothing epoxy flooring for back-of-house and plant room areas, self-leveling cementitious underlayments, and polyurethane joint sealant treatment for all floor control joints.

Technical Specifications & Execution
Vehicular Traffic Loads & Tire Abrasion on Parking Decks
Multi-level hotel parking structures experience constant tire abrasion, hot-tire pick-up, oil and fuel dripping, and dynamic braking loads. The intermediate structural slabs also require waterproofing to prevent chloride-laden rainwater from penetrating to the reinforcement steel below, a critical factor in the coastal Abu Dhabi environment.
Polyurethane Traffic Deck & Epoxy Flooring Systems
Parking deck slabs were prepared to CSP-3 profile and coated with BETOFLEX® PU FloorCoat, a high-build polyurethane traffic deck system incorporating aggregate broadcast for anti-skid performance. Back-of-house areas and plant rooms received BETOFLEX® EpoxyFloor self-smoothing coatings. Uneven substrates were leveled using BETOFLEX® SL Screed cementitious underlayment. All floor control joints were sealed with BETOFLEX® PU Sealant-25.
Inspection & Testing Protocol
Dry film thickness (DFT) measurements were taken at grid intervals per ASTM D7091 to verify minimum coating build. Adhesion pull-off testing per ASTM D4541 confirmed substrate bond strength exceeding 1.5 N/mm². Ponding tests on each parking level verified zero water migration through the coated deck to the level below.
