Khalifa Port Infrastructure Case Study
Geobit Group successfully delivered a state-of-the-art BETOFLEX® material solution for the Khalifa Port Infrastructure project. Working closely with engineering consultants and main contractors, our specialized waterproofing systems were applied to guarantee absolute moisture resistance, chemical durability, and long-term structural integrity under demanding local conditions.

The Aggressive Marine Environment
Marine concrete structures at Khalifa Port are exposed to constant tidal cycles, seawater spray, and high temperatures. Chloride ions penetrate the concrete pores quickly, leading to rapid corrosion of internal steel reinforcement, while sulfate attacks weaken the concrete matrix.
The Marine-Grade Polyurea & Crystalline Barrier
Geobit applied a dual defense system. First, concrete elements were infused with BETOFLEX® Admix C-10 to restrict liquid water transmission through concrete capillaries. Second, the tidal zone and splash zone concrete surfaces were coated with BETOFLEX® Pure Polyurea HP, a 100% solids, fast-curing hot-spray elastomer that provides a seamless, highly flexible chemical and abrasion-resistant shield.
Quality Assurance & Execution
The application of the BETOFLEX® systems successfully prevented chloride ion penetration and structural erosion. The chemical-resistant barrier extends the service life of port assets by up to 50 years under extreme maritime conditions.
