Dubai Metro Expansion Case Study
Geobit Group successfully delivered a state-of-the-art BETOFLEX® material solution for the Dubai Metro Expansion project. Working closely with engineering consultants and main contractors, our specialized waterproofing systems were applied to guarantee absolute moisture resistance, chemical durability, and long-term structural integrity under demanding local conditions.

The Subterranean Water Table Challenge
With transit lines and underground stations running deep beneath the regional water table, the structures face continuous hydrostatic pressure from groundwater containing high concentrations of chlorides and sulfates. Active water ingress would lead to reinforcement corrosion and structural degradation of the concrete tunnels.
The BETOFLEX® Multi-Layered Protection System
To ensure long-term durability, a multi-layered tanking system was designed. The primary concrete structural elements were cast using concrete containing BETOFLEX® Admix C-10 crystalline admixture, rendering the concrete permanently impermeable and capable of self-healing micro-cracks. Externally, a double layer of BETOFLEX® Bitumelt SBS torch-on membranes was applied, fully bonded to the substructure, and protected with heavy-duty BETOFLEX® Protection Board prior to backfilling.
Quality Assurance & Execution
Over 250,000 square meters of membrane and crystalline protection systems were successfully installed under strict quality controls, passing independent hydrostatic testing at pressures up to 5 bar, guaranteeing a dry and safe environment for public transport infrastructure.
